Shadows can slip between dimensions, and Ixi spent her childhood waiting for Shallon’s next visit. They were friends brought together by curiosity turned to lovers torn apart when one’s mother murdered the other’s.

Years have passed since a single act of violence separated them, and now that Ixi sits on the Icarian throne, a Shadow stalks her… watching and waiting. But she wears the scars that were required to earn her throne, and she knows that Shadows aren’t the nightmares her forebears claimed.
